The Cats

Three of these boys came from the TNR (Trap Neuter Return) cats we’ve been feeding at Fair Shares over the years. All our cats are indoor only cats. Not a single one of them seem the slightest bit interested in going back outside, so we’ll see what happens when they get to the boat.

Tito

Tito, our 17-pound Maine Coon, is our sweet, diabetic old man. We adopted him as a kitten in 2006 when we had two other cats. He was an only child since 2012, and was surprisingly adaptive when we brought Vincent home.

Vincent the Peacemaker got along with everyone. He was a little ray of sunshine that came to live with us in 2015, after a couple of years of terrorizing the cat colony at Fair Shares. He was the perfect example of neutering helping to reduce aggression. He was going to be our helmsman–we pictured him with a pirate hat, a patch, a peg and a parrot…

We miss him so!

Betty

Originally thought to be the father of Astro, when we dropped Betty off at the clinic we learned that he had already been fixed, so our hopes of neutering him to improve his demeanor was a fail. He’s sweet, but he has issues. Don’t we all?

Astro

Astro the black panther, a.k.a. Tall Dark and Handsome, or TDH. He’s a sexy beast. We adopted him from Fair Shares when he broke a toe and needed convalescing. Sara’s dream of having her boyfriend move in came true. #ManifestingWorks

Cat Whisperings

They say introducing an adult male cat into the home with another adult male cat can be challenging, and they aren’t wrong. We just happened to have the ideal house to allow for a slow and safe introduction, so we did it. Then we did it again, and then again. There’s a sweetie pie at Fair Shares named Gus (short for Guest cat) who really would make a great house cat…

Gus

Lucky for Stephen, Tito, Vincent, Betty and Astro, Gus is my sister Lindy’s boyfriend, so he isn’t coming to live with us.
