The Argentina Chapter – Part 2

Today marks three weeks since we arrived in Argentina. We have established our favorite streets to stroll and stores to shop for groceries and supplies, as well as some favorite establishments to enjoy beers and food, and although it goes against everything we’ve preached for the past twenty plus years, it may actually be cheaper to eat out than it is to spend the time shopping and preparing food. But we still feel the need to cook for ourselves. Shopping for groceries provides a learning opportunity that is different from going to a restaurant, though it would seem we aren’t doing either enough to get a good grasp on communicating well. I am remembering that my learning skills are directly related to reading and writing, because just listening and trying to speak is not working!

We were excited to see the stark black bottom paint being added today. Although the top-of-the-line product Coppercoat wasn't available, we're hopeful this next-best paint, along with the ultrasonic anti-fouling devices we'll be adding inside each hull will help keep growth down so Stephen doesn't have to spend so much time scrubbing the hulls.
Here's another view of the bottom paint, which will have a black line and a thinner blue line above at the water line (called the boot stripe). We expect the hull logos should be showing up soon!
The keys to the castle! We have a very special hand-made keychain that will be keeping them safe once they are turned over to us...thanks Otto!
Schlemiel! Schlimazel!
This is the nav station in the salon. Many cat owners put their litter boxes here under the nav desk, but seeing how many wires are under there, all leading to and from the battery bank in front of this, makes me think maybe that wouldn't be the wisest location...
The nav station drawer. Look at that curve--dang! The craftsmanship is truly impressive.
This ceiling fan is going to make all the difference when we're sailing in tropical locations... Seriously though, the temperature has dropped considerably, and this is the first day that it didn't feel like a cool day in hell inside the factory, and particularly inside the boat. Thank you, amazing 40GS craftsmen for working in the hottest conditions!
This probably would have been seen on the boat if Vincent hadn't abandoned us last year. It's nice to see Halloweenie kitties in the neighborhood being fed on the streets. Tonight we listened to the screeching and screaming of either cats or babies in the neighborhood. Our cats couldn't have cared less.

  1. Hopefully Otto made the keychain out of something that is waterproof, floats and lights up when it’s wet.
